Weekly Update – November 23, 2021
A Thanksgiving Prayer from Pastor Couser
Gracious Lord, every good and perfect gift comes from You. You provide all we need for our lives. You give us families and friends to cheer and encourage us. You have blessed us with a school year where we have been able to be back in-person as we also enjoy a full array of extra-curricular activities again. In this season may our lives overflow with thankfulness.

Through all the trials and challenges of this year, You have been faithful! It is natural for our sinful self to fixate on things we do not have and to complain when life unfolds differently than we have expected or wanted. Yet Your presence is constant. Your power is limitless. Your love is unfailing. Your grace is sufficient.

Your Word says to “give thanks in all circumstances” and so Lord, we praise You now. We reflect on and rejoice in Your goodness. We are unworthy recipients every day of blessing upon blessing – and all from You! Most important, we thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who came to earth and willingly died on the cross for our sins to bring us back into a forever relationship with You, our Heavenly Father. Fill us in these days with joy in Your presence as we anticipate again the celebration of the gift of the Savior this Christmas! Amen.

Middle School–NewThing Youth Retreat
New Thing is taking a group of middle school students to Quake, a weekend-long event in Hunt Valley, MD, where students will join other youth from around the area to worship God and make connections with other youth through worship, workshops, and fun activities. Since 1966, Quake events have partnered with youth leaders to encourage teens to become established in their faith, empowered for Christian living and enabled to live a life of ministry and leadership. This event is January 7-9, 2022 and the cost is $200, which includes two-night's lodging at the Delta at Marriott.

Middle schoolers can register and submit their deposit at this link: https://subsplash.com/newthing/lb/ev/+zp79rdk. Students do not have to attend Concordia Prep School to go on this trip.
The final date to register is Wednesday, Dec. 1, and a deposit of $100 is required. A few scholarships are available. Please email Kaitlyn Stradtmann (kaitlynstradtmann@concordiaprepschool.org) with any questions.
