Office of Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez

Dear Friend and Neighbor,
It is with deep sadness that I write to you today. Our community has lost a leader, a champion for the cultural arts Uptown. After a strikingly short battle with cancer, a good friend, Altagracia Dilone Levat, has passed away. Her important legacy of promoting the accessibility to and development of art and artists in our community will not be forgotten. The light of Altagracia's life will continue to shine in the generation of artists she affected through her work.

Altagracia most recently worked to cultivate a cultural hub in Northern Manhattan at the brand new Alianza Dominicana Cultural Center. She brought in a number of groups that are both educational and highly talented. One of these groups will be honoring her legacy with a special concert tomorrow night (information below).

Please join me, Thursday night at 7pm in City College, as the Association of Dominican Classical Artists remember and celebrate Altagracia's legacy with an Evening of Dominican Folklore. This will be a special tribute, as the memory of our friend will be honored with the same art that she loved and supported.

Thank you for your time.

May our hearts and prayers go to the Levat family.

Sincerely,

Ydanis Rodriguez
