Coney Island Makes Return to Downtown Johnstown
The Tribune-Democrat

A crowd of people lined the sidewalk on Monday, July 16th, for the reopening of a downtown Johnstown landmark, Coney Island Lunch.

Randy Clark, along with his son and wife, are now the new owners of the restaurant. The majority of the restaurant will stay the same as it was since the original opening.

Located at 127 Clinton Street, hours are 10 AM to 8 PM Monday through Saturday and will expand after a few weeks of business.

The next All Industry Partnership meeting will be held on Friday, September 14th at 8:30 AM. This meeting will take place at the Cambria County Public Library in Downtown Johnstown (248 Main Street). Watch our website, as a detailed agenda will be sent out in the near future.

Basic Industrial Electricity Training Course

JARI and Penn Highlands Community College are hosting a training course on Basic Industrial Electricity. There are 12 seats available to companies who may be interested in participating. Details on the classes are listed below and the course outline is attached.

Location : Penn Highlands Community College, Richland Campus
101 Community College Way
Johnstown, PA 15904

Dates and Times : The first session is scheduled for the week of September 17 and the second session is scheduled for the week of September 24.
  • Classes will be held from 8:00am to 12:00pm, Monday-Friday over a 2 week period. (NOTE - schedule may changed based on employer input)

Length of Training : 40 hours
  • Certificates of completion will be provided.

Provider : Pennsylvania Highlands Community College

Instructor : Mr. Stan Kieta, President, REAL Controls, Inc.

Cost / Participant : For 8 participants, the cost per person will be $1,000. If we have 12 participants the cost will be $900.00 per person.
  • WEDNet funding can be used to help defray the cost of the training. To check your company's eligibility, contact Julie Davis at 814-262-3813 or via email at jdavis@pennhighlands.edu.

Seats will be filled on a first come basis. To reserve seats, please complete the attached registration form and return the form to Lauren at  lbrewer@jari.com . Also, include the company contact person for billing purposes. Companies will be invoiced individually.

The deadline to reserve seats is August 13.
