On Wednesday May 2, Green Schools National Network (GSNN) and U.S. Green Building Council will be kicking-off GSCE and RMG with a Friends and Family Gathering from 7:00 - 9:00pm at DaVita Headquarters ( 1551 Wewatta Street, Denver, CO 80202). There will be food and drinks, including the return of the Titos Mule Bar (courtesy of co-sponsor Titos Vodka).

Women in Green Power Breakfast Speakers Announced!

We are excited to announce that Ann Cooper, Jeannie Renne-Malone, and Casey Stock will headline the Women in Green Power Breakfast, to be held from 7:00 - 8:30am on May 4. This special breakfast panel is open to both GSCE  and RMG attendees and costs $65. If you want to attend, be sure to select this special add-on package when you register for GSCE.
 


 

Here's a little more information on each of the breakfast's panelists:
 
Ann Cooper is a chef, author, educator, and President and Founder of the Chef Ann Foundation . A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Ann has been a chef for more than 30 years, over 15 of those in school food programs. She currently serves as the director of nutrition services for the Boulder Valley School District. Known as the Renegade Lunch Lady, Ann has been honored by The Natural Resources Defense Council, selected as a Kellogg Food and Society Policy Fellow, and awarded an honorary doctorate from SUNY Cobleskill for her work on sustainable agriculture. In 2009, Ann founded the nonprofit Chef Ann Foundation to focus on solutions to the school food crisis. The Foundation's pivotal project is The Lunch Box - a web portal that provides free and accessible tools, recipes, and resources to support schools transitioning to scratch-cooked meals made with whole, healthy food.

 
 

Jeannie Renne-Malone, LEED AP BD+C, ENV SP, is Vice President Sustainability at Prologis, the world's leader in logistics real estate solutions. At Prologis, Jeannie is responsible for developing and implementing the company's global sustainability strategy. She sets goals and objectives, establishes strategies, engages stakeholders, tracks progress, and reports results for corporate operations and the global portfolio. She communicates the company's environmental stewardship and social responsibility efforts throughout Prologis and to key stakeholders, including employees, customers, and investors. She also oversees development of the annual carbon footprint and sustainability reporting to various organizations. Jeannie has over 15 years of experience in sustainable development, technology transfer, renewable energy, climate change, greenhouse gas accounting, and sustainability planning and reporting in the U.S. and Latin America. She has an MA in International Finance and Development from the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver, a BA in Spanish from the University of Washington, and holds several sustainability certifications. She is fluent in Spanish.
 

Casey Stock is Sustainability Manager at DaVita , a healthcare company that specializes in kidney care services. She is based in Denver, Colorado at DaVita's World Headquarters and is currently working on engaging the entire organization in meeting the 2020 sustainability goals. Casey holds a Bachelor's in Environmental Studies from Dickinson College and a Masters in Environmental Policy and Management from the University of Denver. Her experience as an environmental scientist for the Department of Energy, in addition to researching sustainability on a global scale, has led to her current passion as a corporate sustainability leader in the healthcare industry. Casey also serves as an advisory council member on Mayor Michael B. Hancock's Advisory Council for Sustainability. 
GSCE 2018 will be held at the Hyatt Regency Denver at the Colorado Convention Center, with pre-conference activities on May 2 and the full conference on May 3 - 4. The conference promises a jam-packed two days with inspiring keynote speakers, seven thematic session tracks to choose from, a must-see exhibit hall, and an array of pre-conference workshops. 

A full GSCE conference pass includes access to the opening and closing plenaries, education sessions, Expo Hall, networking breakfast and lunch, and Happy Hour in the Expo Hall.  Pre-conference workshops on May 2 and the Women in Green Power Breakfast on May 4 must be purchased separately as add-on items.
