Certified Lay Minister Training 2019
The next round of Certified Lay Minister Training will begin on January 25, 2019 at St. John's UMC-ABQ. Participants meet six weekends.

The Certified Lay Minister Program has evolved and developed to reflect the particular “flavor” of the New Mexico Conference. We now have 75 CLM's serving faithfully. At this time, there are six CLM persons who have answered the call and are in or have completed studies for Licensed Local Pastor. There are nine CLM’s who are temporarily filling pulpits in small churches throughout the New Mexico Conference. Numerous CLM’s are on staff or on CLM teams at their local churches filling various duties within the church. One tireless CLM serves as a police chaplain, is the Regional Messy Church Director and is on the Conference Communications Team (among many other things)!

Advanced Lay Servant Training
This Advanced Lay Servant class will be held on February 9, 2019 at University UMC, Las Cruces NM from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. It is a combination of training for the El Paso District Board of Laity, CLM Continuing Education Credit and Advanced Lay Servant Course! *Registrations close February 1. No late or walk-ins accepted.

This training will spark a conversation in your ministry setting about creating a lifestyle of intentional discipleship. The training will also help laity engage their congregation to pursue and evolve the community around them as part of a discipleship system.

We Need Your Baptism Pictures
We have already completed much of the planning for Annual Conference 2019 and are now in the creation stage. One major aspect you will notice is there will be more videos versus spoken reports from the podium. One of the worship videos we have planned will feature pictures of baptisms throughout the year and the Conference. Please send baptism photos to [email protected].
