What should I expect at a Confirmation GLD?
Grade level dinners are an important part of youth ministry at FPC. We're a big church, and these monthly grade-level gatherings help to create smaller communities within our big community.

Confirmation GLDs are the backbone of the Confirmation experience. Each month, we have dinner together, spend some time in small groups (these groups are assigned and stay the same during the year), and then we have a program to explore their faith and claim it as their own, deepen their relationship with God and discover what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ and part of the Presbyterian tradition . FPC pastors and staff lead these programs, and it's our hope that these conversations will encourage 8th graders to reflect on what they believe and how their lives reflect their beliefs.

Don't forget to bring your Confirmation Binders!

Here's an overview of a typical Confirmation GLD evening:
6:00 - 6:45 p.m. Welcome activity, dinner, and fellowship
6:45 - 7:45 p.m. Announcements, check-in with your Confirmation small group,
program, and closing notebook* time
November GLD Topic:
This week at the Grade Level Dinner, Rev. Robert Galloway, will be discussing “Who is Jesus?” In the Apostle’s Creed, we profess some bold and confusing things about Jesus. During this GLD, we hope to find some clarity and figure out how these statements impact our own understanding of God and our faith. We will discuss how Jesus Christ can be fully god and fully human, why Jesus had to die, and what does “the full body resurrection” mean. In preparation for our discussion, look at Questions 28 to 49 in the PCUSA Study Catechism in your Confirmation Binder.
