Is your student ready to grow deeper in their faith? If the answer is yes . . . then it’s time to have them join us on our Confirmation Journey!
Confirmation is not simply a “rite of passage.” Nor is it just a class to complete. It is a step in a life-long journey of pursuing the height, depth, and width of God’s love and making a vow to live in relationship with God for the rest of your life!
So now is the time for your “rising ninth grader” to register to participate in the upcoming Confirmation Class. As has always been our policy here at First Presbyterian Church, our recommended grade (ninth grade) for Confirmation is just that, a recommendation. We have always and will continue to confirm anyone in ninth through twelfth grades who wishes to be part of this faith formation process.
Early next month you will receive in the mail a Confirmation Guidebook that will outline in detail everything you need to know about the Confirmation process. Mark your calendars now for a Parent/Guardian’s Meeting in the Fellowship Hall to review those details on Sunday, August 29th immediately following worship. We also wanted to go ahead and provide you with some very important dates. Please mark your calendars.
The Confirmation Retreat is scheduled for Friday afternoon through Saturday evening, August 27-28. The location is TBD.
The First Class Session for Confirmation is scheduled for Sunday, September 12 at 9:00am. Confirmation Classes will be held on Sunday mornings from 9:00-9:45am through May 1.
The Confirmation Lunch and meeting with the Session will be held Sunday, May 15 at 12:00pm in Fellowship Hall, with the Confirmation Class being recognized during 10:00 am Worship on Sunday, June 5.
