LNG Re-Gen
Our LNG Fleet Gets an Upgrade!
The scope of work includes all new motors, wiring harnesses (engine & transmission), new fuse panels, LNG fuel tanks - and some trucks will receive new transmissions.

We started our first one this week and will do 1 per month for the next 16 months!
Each truck requires over 70 hours of wrench time & the process starts 30 days before we bring a truck into the shop and ends after 23 days of being in the shop, when we turn it back over to operations to head to the Middlebury Quarry!
[The entire process, from start to finish]
We're excited about this great investment for our company driven by an awesome execution record from everyone supporting OMYA!

August Good Catch Winner of the Month
Congrats, Baron!
Baron Delahoyde was performing a walk-around on a truck and trailer before loading, and noticed that there was corrosion between the axle frame and the body frame - and the bolts were breaking off. He reported the issues to be repaired, preventing further damage or a possible accident.
Great job, Baron! Enjoy your $100 gift card!
Safety Topic: Equipment Inspections
This past week we had a Good Catch by George Staples in the Clarendon Quarry: He noticed a brake line leaking as he was performing his daily equipment inspection form.

Had George not noticed this, there could have been a possible brake failure which could have caused serious injury or equipment damage.

This year, fatalities from power haulage vehicles in the mining industry are the highest they have been since 2006, and have been a relevant talking point throughout our company.

Please make sure you are properly inspecting and reporting any mechanical issues in a timely manner so that we can address them as soon as possible.
Safe Driving Practices
There was another Good Catch where a driver pulled out in front of Mark McGinnis without looking. Mark quickly reacted by using his horn to alert the driver and utilized defensive driving to prevent an accident from occurring.
Any time you are traveling on the road, it is important to follow safe driving practices, such as:
  • Obeying the speed limit
  • Wearing your seatbelt
  • Paying attention to the traffic
  • Avoiding distracted driving
If Mark had been speeding or if he had been distracted, this could have gone very differently. Plan the amount of time it will take to get to where you are going, and give yourself some buffer time. Please don't become complacent while driving near traffic - all it takes is for one thing to go wrong before an accident occurs.
Thank you for staying safe out there!
