Dear Friend of KIPP Baltimore,
Our ears are still ringing from all the excitement at last night's promotion ceremony, honoring our eighth graders in the Pride of 2022.  Students and families gathered at the Gilliam Concert Hall at Morgan State University to celebrate the accomplishments and bright futures of our inaugural kindergarten class from KIPP Harmony - we can't believe it!  Guests were also treated to sage words from our keynote speaker, Al Hutchinson, CEO of Visit Baltimore, who shared his four keys to success: loyalty, initiative, team spirit, and confidence.

The Pride of 2022 waited patiently for the granting of promotion certificates.

Valedictorian Nekhu Amut Mitchell thanked her teachers, family, coaches, and fellow KIPPsters for  helping her achieve her ambitious goals. Nekhu will be attending McDonogh School in the fall.
Ms. Adamson was joined onstage with the members of the founding kindergarten
class of KIPP Harmony Academy.

Congrats to the Pride of 2022! We are so excited to watch your successes on your path to and through college and careers!

As we wind down the 2017-2018 school year, we are also eagerly planning for our students' return this fall.  This summer, we will build robust classroom libraries for all of our 1,500 students - and we need your help!

Between now and the end of the month, we are raising $25,000 to outfit each homeroom with reading-ready furniture, rugs, and culturally relevant books to deepen our KIPPsters' love of reading.  Receiving your gift today will have a tangible impact on our students' literacy growth next school year and will provide them with stories filled with protagonists who share their backgrounds. If you've already supported KIPP Baltimore this year, thank you!  Please take a moment to forward this request on to your friends and family who love to get lost in a book, and want to share that feeling with our KIPPsters.
On behalf of all of us at KIPP Baltimore, we hope you have a wonderful summer! Thank you for all that you do for our Team and Family!

With gratitude,
Marsha Reeves
