UMW Quiet Disciple of 2020
Claire Jackson
was chosen United Methodist Women's Quiet Disciple of 2020. Claire is truly one of those ladies who is quietly "everywhere" in the Church as well as in the community, such as her involvement in the "knit-a-bit" library group.
Claire Jackson is the chairlady of the 92124 Circle in Tierrasanta. Moreover, she can always be counted on to help with UMW events. Claire enjoys being a member of the Church's Contemporary singers, as well as a regular caregiver at the church's nursery on Sundays. In addition, Claire has stayed overnight when our Church hosts the Interfaith Shelter, fills pew pockets when needed, and says yes whenever asked to fulfill a task -- especially for the UMW. It can easily be seen that Claire helps whenever she's asked. Claire is a totally dependable, giving lady, and she is delightful to be around, as well. Congratulations, Claire!

Live-streaming Worship from OB
I am grateful that the Trustees approved funding for the installation of live-streaming equipment and needed AV system upgrades on the OB campus. These funds came as part of the estate gift of Wayne Lee Brown, and our church is incredibly grateful for his generosity! Kevin Miller, who serves on staff, and Jerry Tucker, a stellar volunteer and Water's Edge band member, are working on making the designated improvements. We do not currently have a 'start date' for live-streaming in OB, since some of the equipment is on backorder due to high demand. Therefore, we will begin by updating the AV system, and move as quickly toward live-streaming install as circumstances allow. We will begin live-streaming from OB as soon as that capability comes available, but are also grateful that nothing prevents us from live-streaming in Mission Valley as long as that is needed. What a gift it has been to be a multi-site ministry in this season! As the project develops, we will share updates with you and information on how to continue to view the livestream for services on both campuses as desired.
Blessings, Jessica
