CFHS Band members chosen to perform with the band are: Jill Kestner, bassoon; Jax Barry, alto sax; Chase Kline, cornet 1; Blake Arends, cornet 2; Brandon Crawford, cornet 3; Henry Frederick, trombone 1; Sean Miller, trombone 3 (bass trombone; Annika Strohm, euphonium; Jacob Olthoff, tuba and Jeremy Marchesani, snare drum.
Are you looking for something exciting to do here in Cedar Falls over spring break? Come to the McLeod Center and UNI Dome to see the Iowa Regional  FIRST  Robotics Competition. The event is free to the public and takes place March 21-23. Follow the Cedar Falls High School Robotics Team along with 20 other Iowa teams and a total of 47 teams from 8 states. The schedule includes:
  • Thursday, 3/21: Noon - 6:30 PM--Practice Matches
  • Friday, 3/22: 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM--Qualification Matches
  • Saturday, 3/23: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM--Qualification Matches followed by Playoffs in the afternoon
Starting Monday, March 25 ; the first school day back following Spring Break, we will  add 15 minutes of instructional time to the end of each day. The student academic day will end at the following times:





High School: 3:10 p.m.
Junior High Schools: 3:15 p.m.
Elementary Schools: 4 p.m. (Wednesdays at 2:05 p.m.)
Preschool: 2:05 p.m.

This change to the length of the day will allow the District to recoup 2 full days of instruction and move the last day for students to June 6.
The Cedar Falls Community School District and School Board have been engaged in a process to examine the high school’s facility needs, as part of this process we invite you to a community meeting on Thursday, March 28, 6 p.m. at Aldrich Elementary. Tours of the building will be led by current Aldrich Elementary students. This will be an opportunity to see and hear how collaborative, flexible spaces impact, enhance and improve teaching and learning.
