I am so pleased to share that United Road’s Board of Directors has appointed Mark Anderson as its Chairman, assuming the position I’ve held for several years. Mark will continue as CEO, and I am delighted to remain a member of the Board, continuing to work with Mark and our talented leadership team.
Mark’s appointment is a natural transition for the company, which was anticipated from the day he became Chief Operating Officer in 2013. As an exceptional leader and advocate for United Road and the industry, Mark has worked tirelessly over the last ten years to help make United Road the employer and supplier of choice and has helped us navigate myriad industry and global challenges. As those of you who work closely with Mark know, he models our guiding principles and lives our core values. I couldn’t be happier or prouder. We continue to be in good hands.
Please know that United Road and each of you are so dear to me—you have been for over a dozen years and counting. I’m so proud of what this team has accomplished—your relentless focus on being the best we can be, serving our customers, and taking care of each other through the pandemic, supply chain disruptions, and numerous other challenges. We have something really special here at The Road.
Importantly, our future has never been brighter. We have the strongest balance sheet in our history and supportive, enthusiastic investors supercharging the purchase of new trucks to support our growth, and we will continue to invest in innovative and industry-leading technology solutions. Equally as important, we remain fully committed to delivering our customers’ vehicles safely, on time, and damage-free, as evidenced by recent General Motors and Toyota supplier of the year awards.
