The Richard Gilder History Prize is for the top student in history at East High School. The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History is the foremost national organization dedicated to the teaching of American History in K-12 schools, and this is the first year they are offering this award. She will be receiving a book, 1776 by David McCullough. Inside the front flap of this book will be more information about the benefits of this prize as well as a letter of recognition from me.
The prize nominates her for the National Academy of American History and Civics.
