Our NPAA President, Dr. Joyce Loyd-Davis, has received the prestigious honor of being selected for induction into the Alabama Nursing Hall of Fame. Dinner and Induction will be on November 9, 2023, at 7 pm.
Joyce Loyd-Davis is a Family Nurse Practitioner and small business owner of JDJ Consulting. She currently serves as the Sr. Director of Health Services and the Health Officer for Alabama State
University. She has a diverse background in health care including pediatrics, women’s health, community health, occupational health, urgent care, adjunct teaching, and administration over
her 26-year career in healthcare. She also has a political background as she was elected to the Millbrook City Council in 2012. Dr. Loyd-Davis served one 4-year term as Councilwoman. She is a graduate of Tuskegee University (BSN), Troy University (MSN. MSM), and The University of Alabama (DNP). Dr. Loyd-Davis is currently the President of NPAA and is historically the first African American to serve in this position. She was recently appointed by the Governor to the State of Alabama Midwifery Board. She also serves on the Capital City Club Board in Montgomery, AL.
Dr. Davis said, "I have received numerous awards & recognition over my career, but this is definitely a pinnacle achievement, and I'm very honored to be selected from a group of highly qualified professionals. I've always said, just do the work and do a darn good job; you never know who's watching."
