We’re thrilled to share that Dr. Levay has received a Franklin Research Grant from the American Philosophical Society to support his archival research this summer at Cornell University’s Rare Book and Manuscript Library. This prestigious award recognizes the significance of his project and offers valuable support for his continued scholarship.

Congratulations to Melody Irish (History BA, '24), for publication in History Matters
Melody’s work has resulted in a superb article on an extraordinarily understudied topic, "Community Canning Centers During the Great Depression." The journal editors included this note with her acceptance: "The History Matters team prides ourselves on being one of the oldest undergraduate history journals in the country. Out of twenty-two years of publishing, this volume received the highest number of submissions. Your work was one of six papers selected out of the record 136 submitted—an incredible 4.4% acceptance rate. These exemplary articles showcase a diversity of topics, with authors representing Canada and various regions across the United States."

ISU’s newest student organization for content creators, kicked off with a highly successful launch party on April 28! With over 30 attendees from across disciplines, including strong support from the Department of Art, students and community members came together to network, collaborate, and celebrate their shared passion for digital media.
