Congratulations, John!

Today we share and celebrate the recent accomplishment of Jajja's Kid John in earning an Agriculture Certificate from Bukalasa Vocational Institute. He has worked extremely hard to become a successful young adult, advancing in his educational and vocational path.

John grew up with his single father and faced economic hardship and additional family struggles. The family could not afford to care for John or send him to school, which resulted in him becoming homeless and living on the street, begging for food. John's father discovered Jajja's Kids and applied for the program on his behalf. John was accepted at the age of 10 and has been with Jajja's Kids for 11 years.

John has excelled both at home and in school. As a student leader at Bukalasa Vocational Institute, John and his classmates initiated a farming project that now serves as a study farm, allowing students to apply their knowledge and enhance their skills and understanding of modern farming techniques.

John also shared innovative farming ideas with his local community to help villagers adopt better agricultural practices and increase crop yields.

He is now poised to become the farm manager of Jajja's Kids' 3-acre farm located in the countryside. The land was purchased during the pandemic to provide vegetables and expose the children to farming. John plans to build a fish pond on the land for additional food yield and to generate income.

Looking back with gratitude on joining Jajja’s Kids, John is excited for his future. The staff at Jajja’s Kids appreciate his hard work, passion, and positive impact on both his community and his fellow Jajja’s Kids.

This event will take place on Sunday, October 19, 2025, from Noon to 3 PM, at Brown’s Revolution Hall in Troy, NY. It’s a wonderful opportunity to support education and empowerment for our youth.

This gathering will showcase the impact of our supporters' contributions and highlight the success stories of our students.
