There’s a little celebrating happening at the Huntingdon County Chamber of Commerce! This year marks three years since our President/CEO returned to the Chamber, following nine previous years as Program Director. Additionally, Trinity celebrated one year as our Program Director back in August!

While the busyness of everyday Chamber life may have caused these milestones to sneak past us, we couldn't let them go by without celebrating! We are incredibly thankful for our team, the accomplishments we've shared, the friendships we've built, and the opportunity to work together to support our members, champion local businesses, and make a difference in Huntingdon County.

A big thank-you to our members, partners, and community for your continued support, encouragement, and trust. We are grateful to do what we love alongside such an amazing community. Here's to all we've accomplished and everything still ahead!

Happy Chamber-versary to us!

Congratulations to Broad Top Area Medical Center!

We would like to congratulate Broad Top Area Medical Center on their ribbon cutting! We are grateful that you chose to purchase this practice and continue providing an important dental service right here in Huntingdon County. Keeping essential healthcare services local makes a tremendous difference in our community!

We were honored to be part of your celebration and enjoyed seeing all the special details that made the event so memorable. Congratulations on this exciting new chapter! We wish you continued success and look forward to seeing many happy smiles in our community for years to come!

Youth Leaders Making a Difference

The Huntingdon County Chamber of Commerce is proud to see our Youth Leadership participants turning ideas into meaningful action! Jude Zolnoski, alongside co-advisors Preston Ritchie and Ethan Wilson, is leading an initiative called Lunches Out of Landfills, aimed at reducing food waste in the Huntingdon Area School District. The project hopes to launch at Huntingdon Area High School, with plans to potentially expand to the middle and elementary schools.

The team recently presented their project to the Huntingdon Rotary Club and is currently awaiting school board approval. We are incredibly proud of Jude, Preston, and Ethan for taking initiative and showing that young leaders don't have to wait until they're older to make a difference in their community. This is what Youth Leadership is all about!

Join us on Thursday, December 3rd, from 5–7 PM at Comfort Inn for a festive, Christmas-themed Business After Hours! Under new ownership, Comfort Inn is excited to showcase its renovations and welcome guests for tours of its rooms and property.

Enjoy delicious food and beverages, beautiful holiday decorations, and an evening of networking and fellowship with fellow Chamber members. The event will also benefit the Bob Perks Cancer Assistance Fund, giving attendees an opportunity to support a great cause right here in our community.

Plus, Comfort Inn will be giving away a complimentary night's stay! Don't miss this opportunity to see what's new at Comfort Inn, make connections, and enjoy some holiday cheer. We hope to see you there!

Small Business Saturday: Huntingdon County Businesses, We Want to Promote YOU!

The Huntingdon County Chamber of Commerce is inviting local small businesses to participate in this year's Small Business Saturday celebration! Our goal is to shine a spotlight on our local businesses and encourage shoppers to shop local and support the businesses that make our community special.

Participating businesses will receive FREE promotion through a dedicated Chamber marketing campaign, along with advertising materials they can share. Participation is easy! Simply display the QR code and paper entry slips provided by the Chamber so shoppers can enter to win one of three gift baskets, each valued at well over $150 and filled with goodies from local businesses.

Businesses can also receive a free box of promotional materials through American Express's Small Business Saturday Champion program, with assistance from the Chamber to customize the marketing templates. Donations for the gift baskets are welcome but not required to participate!

Don't miss this opportunity to get your business in front of more shoppers and be part of a countywide celebration of small businesses.

The Huntingdon County Foundation (HCF) is proud to support local organizations making a difference in the lives of our neighbors. Recently, the Foundation awarded a total of $4,500 to three area food pantries serving residents throughout Huntingdon County.

These generous contributions, made possible through endowments managed by HCF, will benefit the Huntingdon, Mount Union, and Southern Huntingdon food pantries, helping ensure individuals and families in our community have access to essential food resources.

On September 24, 2026, HCF Board Members Connie Kough Pittenger and John Eastman presented the donations to representatives of the recipient organizations. MacKenzie Huntsman, President & CEO of the Huntingdon County Chamber of Commerce, was also present for the presentation.

Established in 2009 under the auspices of the Huntingdon County Chamber of Commerce, the Huntingdon County Foundation is dedicated to supporting charitable giving and strengthening our community through assistance to nonprofit organizations. Today, the Foundation's endowments total more than $1.614 million, with over $293,000 distributed to charitable organizations, educational scholarships, and nonprofit grants to date.

We are grateful for the generosity of those who make this work possible and proud to see these investments making a lasting impact right here in Huntingdon County. Together, we are building a stronger, more supportive community!

Did you know........

Small businesses represent the largest segment by number of most local chamber membership rolls. Results in the research study by The Shapiro Group, Inc. and Market Street indicate the impact of local chamber membership on small businesses is very powerful. If a consumer knows a small business is a member of its local chamber, the business enjoys a 44 percent increase in its consumer favorability rating, a 51 percent increase in consumer awareness, a 57 percent increase in its local reputation and a 63 percent increase in the likelihood that consumers will patronize the business in the future.

Research indicates that chamber membership stimulates business-to-business commerce in the local community. Other businesses in town are more likely to do business with you and your company if you are a member of the local chamber. Because a major part of a small business typically comes from business-to-business services, it is essential to maintain a positive standing within the local business community.
