We are delighted to share the news that Leanne Barrett has been named Executive Director of the RI Association for Infant Mental Health (RIAIMH). This is a wonderful and well-deserved next step, and a meaningful gain for Rhode Island’s youngest children and families.

Leanne will continue in her role as Director of Early Childhood Policy and Strategy through April 17, ensuring continuity during this transition. Over the past 21 years, she has built an extraordinary legacy of advocacy -- championing policies and investments that have made a lasting difference for babies, children, and families across Rhode Island.

We are working closely with RIAIMH to ensure a smooth and thoughtful transition, and we’re grateful that RIAIMH will continue as a strong partner on the RIght from the Start Steering Committee. We are excited that Rachel Flum will assist with the coordination of the RIght from the Start Campaign for the remainder of the legislative session. Advocacy for our youngest Rhode Islanders will remain fierce and relentless.

Rhode Island’s children and families are incredibly fortunate to have Leanne stepping into this new leadership role. Please join us in congratulating her and wishing her continued success!
