Wear Blue Day - April is Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Awareness Month

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, which emphasizes the importance of communities and families collaborating to prevent child abuse and neglect. Faculty and Staff will observe Wear Blue Day on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.

Wear Blue Day is an event dedicated to raising awareness about this critical issue. We believe every student has the right to feel safe and protected. The Jasper County School District is committed to prioritizing students in all our efforts and preparing them for a bright future. To symbolize the carefree life every child should experience, we will be placing pinwheels in front of the schools.

Dynamic and Ongoing Strategic Planning at JCSD

To maintain momentum into and beyond the upcoming school year, it is essential for all district leaders and principals to meet. This collaboration will ensure that everyone in the district is aligned and prepared for FY2026, in relation to the district's strategic plan and school improvement plans, as well as for planning the use of federal programs for the 2025-2026 school year.

With this objective in mind, district leaders, led by Dr. Eugene Bellamy, Interim Director of Federal Programs, conducted a full-day session that included several rotations, activities, and discussions. The emphasis was placed on the importance of establishing and maintaining systems that effectively incorporate:

  • Collaboration
  • Data-driven decision-making
  • Parent and family engagement (PFE)
  • Stakeholder voice (including teachers, staff, students, parents, and the broader community)
  • The interconnectedness of federal spending and the strategic plan
  • Continuous improvement: identifying what is working, what is not, and when it's time to pivot
  • Evaluative measures at the end of each year: assessing the return on investment
  • Federal updates: changes from the U.S. Department of Education (USDOE)
