We’re excited to announce that Ian Sherman, Chair of the Ottawa Board of Trade, is a 2021 recipient of the Order of Ottawa! The Order of Ottawa recognizes exceptional residents who have made a significant contribution in a professional capacity in many areas of city life that benefit the residents of Ottawa.

Thank you Ian, for giving your energy, time, and continued support for your community. And thank you for your continued leadership and support for your Ottawa Board of Trade, we are grateful for your leadership as our Board Chair.

Ian has been recognized many times for his community service, most recently receiving the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Ottawa Philanthropy Award as 2021 Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser and the 2021 Rabbi Dr. Reuven Bulka Award from the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation.

Apply for Desjardins GoodSpark Grants Today!

Desjardins is giving away 150 grants of $20,000 to locally owned and operated small businesses across Canada. These businesses must:

  • Have a minimum of 1 employee and a maximum of 50 employees
  • Have been registered for at least 1 year (since Nov 1, 2020, at the latest)
  • Have a project that involves at least 1 of the following issues: sustainable development, employment, innovation

  • Enhanced Web Package: Customize your business' profile with images, video and more! Available for members with a Business Associate Membership level of investment and higher can add photos, videos, and more to their profile.

  • Make the POST Promise: Showcase your business' commitment to consumer and employee safety. As an incentive for businesses to make the promise, we are offering complimentary POST Promise toolkits to the first 1,000 businesses to make the promise
