"Onward and upward"

The school year is winding down, but the activities are ramping up.

Parents, guardians, family and friends were treated to an array of music and art during Transfiguration Academy's annual Spring Concert and Art Show. Students from all grade levels performed songs and musical numbers with the guidance of Mr. Aragon. They also showcased some of their masterpieces made in Ms. De Santis' class.

No work and all play! That was the idea at Transfiguration's Field Day. Students enjoyed an entire day of games and activities held both indoors and outdoors. Students agree the best part was definitely the color blast! Be sure to check out all of the colorful photos on our Congratulations to the Class of 2019! That includes our oldest graduates in eighth grade to our youngest graduates in preschool and kindergarten. The academic year went by in a flash, but together we gained much knowledge, grew deeper in faith and created lifelong memories.

On Friday, June 7, 24 eighth-grade students threw their caps into the air outside St. John's Church following their commencement ceremony. Cynthia Jacobs was this year's valedictorian and Lyla Libanan was salutatorian. Bergenfield Mayor Norman Schmelz served as the guest speaker. A Baccalaureate Mass was celebrated earlier in the day by Msgr. Arnhols. Ten of our graduates are going on to Catholic high schools in the area; three have been accepted to Bergen County Academies; one to the Academies at Englewood; and one to the Bergenfield STEM program. We will miss our students, but wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors!

On Tuesday, June 11, Pre-K3 and Pre-K4 celebrated their graduations. The students showcased what they learned throughout the school year and performed some songs.

On Wednesday, June 12, it was kindergarten's turn to take the stage. Donning little caps and gowns in maroon and white, the students sang for their families and proved they're ready for first grade.
