Intermediate Days of Sukkot Holidays
Exodus 33:12-34:26
Moses said to the Eternal, "See, You say to me, 'Lead this people forward,' but You have not made known to me whom You will send with me. Further, You have said, 'I have singled you out by name, and you have, indeed, gained My favor.'"- Exodus 33:12
SUMMARY:
In the Shabbat during Sukkot, we are reminded of the age-old desire to know God. Moses implores God to let him see God. While God will not allow Moses to see God's face, God tells Moses, "I will make My goodness pass before you..." Perhaps we experience the divine presence through the goodness we create in the world. The Torah then sets forth the thirteen attributes of God, among them that God is compassionate, gracious, slow to anger and abounding in kindness. By emulating these very attributes, we create the goodness which allows us to know God.

Hi, Y'all,
Religious School classes began on Sunday, October 13th with almost perfect attendance. Mid-week Hebrew began on the 15th.
Our Youth Group, under Matt Berenson's supervision had pizza and an did an excellent job assembling our Sukkah. Ms. Stephanie's kindergarten class made a beautiful chain link to decorate it.
ISJL 'weekend' begins Oct.18th with Shabbat and continues through the 20th. Our ISJL fellow, Julia, will hold a Torah study on Saturday, Oct. 19th, at the Gutenstein's: Kyle Farm Community, 765 Marley Lane SW, Powder Springs, GA 30127. RSVP to:
[email protected]. All congregants are invited. Julia also has some innovative and definitely
fun activities for Religious School and the confirmation class
on the 20th.
In addition, there will be a B'nai Mitzvah meeting for this year's B'nai Mitzvah families on the 20th after Religious School.
During Shabbat service Oct. 25th, Rabbi Prass will consecrate
our new students.
It will be a busy few weeks, but I hope everyone will attend all the events.
Shalom,
Bob Huebsch,
Director of Education
