Dear Cunningham Family,
Per a directive from Bishop Lewis of the Virginia Annual Conference, CUMC is cancelling worship services for Sundays March 15 & 22.
This measure is taken to slow the spread of the Coronavirus, COVID-19.
I understand that some of you may find this news disappointing, and others may feel it to be an unnecessary step. I appreciate your feelings and want you to know that your concerns and feelings have been taken into consideration. Please remember that the Conference's primary concern, as is mine, is to ensure the health and safety of our members, friends, and communities. If we can take a few simple measures now to ensure the health of our communities, especially those most vulnerable, we would be remiss not to take those steps.
Though we won’t be meeting in person to worship, I encourage you to read your Bible, say your prayers, and continue to be in conversation with one another over matters of faith. I will try to send out reminders and readings that will help you worship at home with your loved ones.
