A note from Alan Jacobs, Church Council Chair

Friends in Christ,

It is with great joy and excitement that I communicate the results of our congregational vote from this past weekend. Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church members overwhelmingly voiced their approval of Pastor Brian W. Wise to be called as our next Senior Pastor with 90% of voters supporting. The breakdown of votes for the curious minds is 564 total votes with 506 yes votes. The synod is aware of the results and has approved the call. The formal letter of call from Pastor Brian can be found below.

We ask that you all continue to pray for our church and the Wise family as we begin the transition forward. As we write the next chapter for Our Saviour’s we need to remember that we the people are the church. We need to continue with honest conversations, surrounded in love and respect, to help build what God has planned for us in the future. It is not one individual or a collective group of pastors and staff that will accomplish great things. It is all of us working together with the mission to do God’s work and serve one another in Christ that will enable us to continue to be a leader in Knowing Jesus and Making Jesus Known.

Lastly, I would encourage everyone who did not have an opportunity to listen to Pastor Fanya's sermon this weekend to watch the recording HERE. I'm sure you'll agree that her words are very applicable to our current point in time as a church.

God bless,

Alan Jacobs
Council Chair
A note from Pastor Brian Wise, Senior Pastor

Dear Church,

Seven years ago, when I accepted the call to serve as Associate Pastor at Our Saviour’s, I knew my family and I had come to a special place. Together, we have grown in worship and service, and I was honored to be considered for the Senior Pastor position.

It is with enthusiasm that I would like to officially accept the call to be Our Saviour’s next Senior Pastor! I am honored, humbled, and elated to be invited. I have felt so much love and appreciation from the people of Our Saviour's over the last seven years of ministry here, especially in the previous few months since this call process began.

We would be grateful if you’d pray for our family as we transition into this new call with you, and we will be praying for Our Saviour's as we navigate this transition together.

I am grateful to everyone at Our Saviour's for allowing me to continue to journey alongside you as we listen to where God is calling us as a faith community. May we never stop dreaming about what God has in store for us and never stop sharing God’s love on the way!

God’s Peace,

Pastor Brian Wise
