We need CONGRESS to action NOW to support small businesses! On Friday, July 31, individuals who had already lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 received another blow when the $600 CARES Act unemployment benefit expired and now there is more uncertainty as to what has been directed by executive order. The bottom line is that many people now face the real possibility of losing their homes. While these benefits may have been designed to help individuals, their expiration will likely become another devastating blow to small businesses.
Congress must address the needs of the unemployed and small businesses and it must be a priority including the extension of unemployment benefits, more funding for small business loan programs, and other policy solutions to prioritize small businesses. We need Congress to take action to ensure that there is appropriate and immediate support for small businesses.
