Dear Members,

President Trump has submitted a budget that preserves MSAP funding at its current level of $107 million. We have been working with relevant House Members to increase this funding.

Our starting point is to demonstrate interest in the funding by a show of strength via a Dear Colleague letter being circulated by Congressman Joe Courtney of Connecticut to the Chair and to the Ranking Member of the House Education Appropriations Subcommittee. The more Members of Congress that sign the Dear Colleague letter, the more helpful it will be for our efforts behind the scenes to point out the reasons for an increase.

An email stating that you work for a magnet school/district office in the Member’s district, and that you hope s/he agrees with the importance of the MSAP program, is key. Encourage your Representative to sign this letter, a copy of which is attached. Please also cc the contact at our government affairs firm, Alex Perry ( alex.perry@flpadvisors.com ) so that he can follow up with each office.

Attached is a listing of the staff education contact for each House Member. It is important that these emails be received before March 25th.

Thank you for assisting this important effort.
