Congressman John Rose Secures Commitment From Major National Banks to Consider
Banking Independent ATM Operators
Congressman John Rose (R-TN), Keynote Speaker at NAC2022 Conference & Expo, used his allotted time during this week's high profile US House of Representatives Financial Services Committee hearing, to pointedly question CEOs of the nation’s largest banks on why they are categorically denying banking services to Independent ATM Operators throughout the U.S. (Hearing Replay Link Below.)
At the hearing, Mr. Rose was able to obtain commitments from the big banks to make a careful re-evaluation of their current policies precluding ATM Operators from maintaining bank accounts. This immediate review is esssential given recent significant updates to the FFEIC's BSA/AML Examination Manual and subsequent guidance from FinCEN and FFEIC agencies regarding the importance of fairly banking Independent ATM Operators.
On behalf of ATM NATION, NAC commends Congressman Rose for his political courage and conviction in bringing this critical issue to the forefront during yesterday’s Committee hearing.
