We're spending much of January and February preparing our half dozen or so Kelowna Chamber policies for the first policy convention of the year, end of May in Burnaby with the BC Chamber. We're looking at a range of issues that bubbled to the surface in our fall Member Policy Forum: regional transportation; a couple of agricultural issues; dumping the Spec Tax as unfixable; lots more.  Chamber staff are working with the BC Chamber policy cohort on these issues, as well as with chambers throughout the valley and across the province on specific resolutions aimed at recommendations to government that will make business function more effectively.  Driving all is our Board's Policy Advisory Committee who are deeply involved in researching and writing.
Economic Scorecard: How does Kelowna rank worldwide?
Monday, February 11 2019 | 11:45AM-1:30PM | Coast Capri Hotel
Eighteen months ago, a four-partner working group asked that question. After selecting comparative cities and combing through reams of data, the Group's first Kelowna Economic Scorecard 2019 has all the results. Nearly 25 task force members assisted the working group, calling in additional researchers to dig into relevant data, examine economic and social indicators, and produce a baseline report that will now be updated every three years.

Results of the Scorecard - encompassing 24 indicators and 17 cities worldwide - will be released February 11 at a Chamber luncheon at which full results will be presented by the four partners. Don't miss out!
