PASTOR'S PONDERING

September 30, 2026

Celebrating 25 years of ministry is wonderful. Celebrating 25 years while looking ahead to what God might do through Alleluia in the next 25 years is even better!

As we prepare for our 25th Anniversary celebration on November 1, we are sharing our story and building our future.

Over the next few weeks, we will hear stories about how Alleluia’s worship and ministry have touched lives, strengthened the faith of families, and served our community. We will hear voices from our past, celebrate what God is doing among us today, and dream together about what might be possible in the years ahead.

And we are inviting you to be part of that future.

In honor of Alleluia’s 25th Anniversary, we have set an initial special giving goal of $25,000 above and beyond our regular giving. These gifts will help us build for the future in three important ways:

  • Welcome and grow our congregation with a new, more visible sign at the entrance to our property.
  • Strengthen our serving ministry in the community, including our work to help ensure that children have food and caring community around them.
  • Prepare for the future by purchasing needed equipment and helping reduce Alleluia’s debt.

Twenty-five years ago, people believed in what God was beginning here. They gave their time, their talents, their prayers, and their financial resources to help build the congregation we have today. Now it is our turn to help build what comes next.

In the coming weeks, please look for a special 25th Anniversary pledge card at church. You will also have the opportunity to complete your pledge online. We invite you to prayerfully consider making a one-time gift or an additional pledge over the coming year toward our initial $25,000 anniversary goal.

Most of all, thank you. Thank you for what you have already given. Thank you for the ways you serve. Thank you for the stories you have helped create over these first 25 years.

Now, together, let’s see what God will build through us next. 25 years. $25,000. And a future still being written.

See you in worship!

Pastor Kimberly

Along with the form- if you have pictures from the last 25 years at Alleluia, please email Solveig or bring pictures in to be scanned during office hours: Tuesday-Thursday 9-4 or on Sunday mornings. WILD — Women in Loving Discipleship

A New Start Date!

A Book & Bible Study in One

Based on The Ones We Wait for by Michael Ivanov

NEW START DATE: October 19 at 6:30 PM

What happens in the moments after we leave this world—and who are we waiting for when we get there?

Join WILD for a unique book and Bible study centered on Michael Ivanov’s moving novel, The Ones We Wait For.

The story follows Luke, who has spent his afterlife guiding new arrivals from an old train station in the valley toward the luminous city beyond. Along the way, he helps people face old wounds, discover peace, and move toward what awaits them all while Luke himself waits for someone he lost long ago. It is an unexpected story of reunion, grace, faith, redemption, and enduring love.

Together, we’ll read the novel and use its story as a starting point for exploring Scripture and talking about some of the questions at the heart of our faith: What does it mean to hope in God’s promises? How do grace and forgiveness shape our lives? What do we believe about loss, love, redemption, and the life to come?

Come read, wonder, question, laugh, reflect, and share together. Whether you are a longtime Bible-study participant or simply intrigued by the book, you are welcome and be sure to bring a friend.

Meeting Dates:

October 19 • November 2 • November 9 • November 23

All sessions begin at 6:30 PM

Come join the conversation and perhaps find yourself thinking about the people you love…and the ones you wait for. Contact Pr. Kimberly to let her know you are coming or just show up.

All are welcome to our fall kick off Book Discussion

Our fall book we will be discussing is The Latehomecomer: A Hmong Family Memoir by Kao Kalia Yang. Yang's award-winning memoir of her family's harrowing escape from war in Laos is a love letter to her grandmother; a troubling portrait of the consequences of U.S. intervention in Southeast Asia; and a glimpse into the little-seen exodus of the Hmong people, first to refugee camps in Thailand and then, for many, to new homes in Minnesota. Join us on Thursday October 22 at 6:30 PM.

Contact Lori DeRoo with questions.

Hello Crafters and Vendors:

The Holiday Season is coming up fast! Plans are underway for THIS year’s Holiday Boutique, on Saturday, December 5, 2026 from 9:00 AM-1:00 PM at Alleluia Lutheran Church (10401 30th St. NE., St. Michael). We would LOVE it if you would join us again this year and help support our ongoing outreach to our local community and Haiti. Did you know that 100% of your vendor fee will go directly to support our Outreach Ministries at Alleluia? Alleluia is committed to serving those in our community and beyond. We partner with Every Meal to support students at Fieldstone Elementary with weekend food, Breakfast at the Playground during the summer, Mental Health Connect, Hanover Food Shelf, St. Michael Food Shelf, and Healing Haiti.

If you are interested in being a part of THIS year’s Holiday Boutique, please contact Sue. For your convenience, we have an online application and payment option. We are limiting the number of vendors this year to allow all vendors to be in the fellowship area (so sign up early). Our youth room will be used for our “Grandma’s Attic” sale.

Also, please help us spread the word and invite others to be a vendor/crafter at our event, or to just come out and shop on December 5th! Feel free to forward this to others who may be interested in participating!

Thank you for your consideration to join us this year and we hope to see you on December 5th!!!

Easy Ways to Give Electronically

It's easy to give electronically - and you can make changes any time you'd like. For each of these methods, once you're set up, it's easy to give any time (and the set-up is pretty easy, too!)

Please note: If you set up your giving as a debit from your bank account, (instead of using a credit or debit card) there are no service fees and your full donation will go to Alleluia. You can also donate the service fee as part of your giving if you prefer to use a card.
