As we begin our new Fiscal Year (FY), I’m excited to begin another round of City Manager Conversations with all of you. Since these started two years ago, I’ve appreciated the dialogue with every department and have encouraged your feedback on opportunities to improve our organization.
During the last round of City Manager Conversations, a theme regarding employee paid-time off benefits surfaced in most department meetings. In response to your feedback, the City has made significant enhancements to our paid leave benefits in the new FY (adding a floating holiday, paid leave for part-time staff, paid parental leave, updating our vacation table with additional days, etc.) to remain competitive in retaining and attracting top talent. While this is just one example, it illustrates how your voice can help bring positive change to our workplace.
