Community Development

Abigail joins our Community Development department as a Senior Planner. Abigail has a Bachelors of Science in Design and Environmental Analysis from Cornell University. Abigail enjoys outdoor activities, gardening, painting, cooking, sewing, design and architecture. Stop by our Community Development department and welcome Abigail!

Yazmin Gomez

Police Department

Yazmin joins our Police Department as the Management Analyst. She has her Masters in Law Enforcement Intelligence & Analysis. Yazmin enjoys reading, listening to crime podcasts, yoga and exploring new coffee shops. Stop by the Public Safety building and welcome Yazmin!

Berenis Pavelchik

Police Department

Berenis joins our Police Department as a Records Specialist.

Berenis has her Bachelors in Business and Administration, and is also a certified Phlebotomist. Berenis is a mom to her toddler and also to her 12-year old husky, Bear. In her free time, Berenis enjoys reading and playing Scrabble and Chess. Stop by the Public Safety Building and welcome Berenis.

Vincent Ayala

Fire Department

Vincent joins the City as a Firefighter. He is currently working towards his EMT license. Vincent has his Masters in Business Administration and chose to become a firefighter to serve the community . He enjoys sports and shared that he is a huge Cubs fan! Stop by Public Safety and welcome Vincent!

John Lacson

Library

John is the new Media Lab Specialist at Lake Forest Library. John moved to the US from the Philippines in 2014. He previously worked as the Chief Technology Officer at UBE Media, Inc., as the sound engineer for the Manila Symphony Orchestra, and as the Graphic Designer for Zion-Benton Public Library. John enjoys helping people with new technologies and using his experience in multimedia production to assist with their projects. He loves music, art and design. Stop by our Lake Forest Library and welcome John!

Susan Neil

Library

Susan joined the Lake Forest Library as a Youth Services Specialist. Susan was a classroom teacher for 17 years, and is excited to work at the Library and help our youngest patrons enjoy the wonderful world of books. When not at the Library, Susan works as a reading tutor, and she is currently writing her first novel for middle grade readers. In her free time, Susan enjoys traveling with her husband and their three children. Stop in the Library and welcome Susan!
