As we begin a new fiscal year, I want to express my gratitude to Diane Hall for her leadership and to the entire Finance Department for their outstanding work. Though much of their efforts happen behind the scenes, their contributions are truly the backbone of our City operations.
A special shout out to Brina Diaz and Zenaida Cabrera for their dedication in keeping the HR Department running smoothly as we transition to a new HR Director. Their commitment to excellent customer service for both staff and retirees has been vital in supporting a seamless start to the new fiscal year. We’ve now begun the interview process for our new HR Director and aim to complete the process this month, with a target start date sometime in June.
Finally, I’d also like to thank Brina, Zenaida, Matt Goodman, and the entire Activities Committee for organizing another successful chili cook-off this past weekend. Despite the chilly weather (no pun intended) the event drew a good crowd and featured some impressive entries. Congratulations to our winners—City Clerk Biddy Boyer, who took home first place, and Steve Hill from the Water Plant, who earned the People’s Choice Award!
