National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

CTN will be honouring both Orange Shirt Day and National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30.

This day pays homage to the Indigenous children who never returned home and the Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities. CTN acknowledges that Every Child Matters and that recognizing the tragic and painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools is a vital component of the reconciliation process. We want to be part of that process.

CTN promotes reconciliation and inspires positive action, aligned with our CTN values and continued commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, Indigeneity and accessibility.

September is Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Awareness Month

FASD is a lifelong disability that affects the brain and body of individuals who were exposed to alcohol in the womb. Each person with FASD has both strengths and challenges and need special supports to help them succeed in daily life. Research shows that early and appropriate supports can make a positive impact and improve outcomes for those with the disability.
