New Caring for the Caregiver Video Series | |
Are you looking for resources to support your wellness as a caregiver?
Children’s Treatment Network (CTN) is excited to share the launch of our Caring for the Caregiver video series! This four-part video series focuses on providing caregivers with skills and strategies that can be used in their day- to-day lives.
The videos in this series include Finding Balance and Self-Care, Embracing Mindfulness in the Present, Fostering Compassion Within: Nurturing Your Inner Caregiver and Balancing Act: The Art of Assertive Communication.
Videos can be watched at your own viewing pace, individually or as part of the series. You can access the videos on our website.

Inclusive Treat-or-Treat and Halloween Events with CTN | |
It’s that time of year again—Halloween at CTN! A time when CTN and our community partners welcome kids and youth with disabilities and developmental needs for trick-or-treating in a safe, sensory sensitive and accessible environment. Events are located across Simcoe County and York Region.
These Halloween events are free to attend and costumes are optional. Please visit our website to register for the event you are interested in attending as there is limited space available.

Recreation Opportunities through CTN's Equipment Loan Program | CTN's Equipment Loan Program (ELP) provides access to specialized recreation, therapy and complex clinical equipment so kids and youth with disabilities and developmental needs can participate with their family and friends at home and in the community. There is a range of equipment available to support fun and fitness, such as adapted bikes, the Mobi-Chair® floating beach wheelchair, the GRIT Freedom Chair and more. | | |

Focus on Families Virtual Series - Exploring IEP's and IPRC's | |
Wednesday, September 25, 2024 from 12 to 1 p.m.
Learn about school board documents, processes and what to expect when your child is accessing special education programs. The workshop is hosted in partnership with Your Support Services Network (YSSN) and is co-presented by parents with lived experience.

Calling all Youth and Alumni Ages 13 to 21! | |
Wednesday, September 25, 2024 to Wednesday, May 28, 2025
We are launching a monthly youth group for CTN youth and alumni starting in September. The group will run the fourth Wednesday of every month (except for December) for eight months, with each month focusing on an “F-Word”: Fun, Fitness, Functioning, Family, Friends and Future. The group will be facilitated by two CTN alumni and our Child and Family Wellness Program coordinators. There will be welcome and wrap-up parties in person, with the rest of the meetings being online. Come and get connected!

CTN Inclusive Recreation Day at Blue Mountain | |
Friday, September 27, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Kids and youth with disabilities and developmental needs and their families can spend the day at Blue Mountain and try out multiple fun activities depending on their interest and comfort level. Some of the activities include Cocoon Crawl Playscape, the Plunge Aquatic Centre, hiking trails and much more.
Please note this is not a free event and information regarding prices and payment can be found on the registration form.

MOVE Try-It Class with GoodLife Kids Foundation in Barrie | |
Thursday, October 3, 2024 from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Come join a MOVE coach at GoodLife Fitness Barrie for an in-person, MOVE Try-It Class. MOVE by GoodLife Kids Program is a free physical activity and fitness program for youth aged 12 to 21 with autism and intellectual disabilities. This is a great way for youth to experience this fun, full body workout lead by specialized trained coaches. During the class you can expect to complete a talk topic, warm up, dance break, circuit, cool down and guided meditation.
