MAY 2022
NEWS
In January 2022, Children’s Treatment Network (CTN) started its journey to develop a new strategic plan. Over 220 people told us what CTN meant to them and how we could help make their lives better.

Those connected to CTN took the time to provide their feedback about their experiences and share what was important to them, opportunities and challenges that may impact the network in the next five years. These insights will inform our new strategic plan.

We have summarized what we learned and look forward to sharing our new plan this fall.
On Thursday, June 2nd, Ontarians will head to the polls to cast their vote in the provincial election. Voting is an important way to have your say in the issues that matter to you, including what funding, services and supports are available for children and youth with disabilities or developmental needs. Check out our recent article for how to get informed, tips to connect with candidates and more.
The CTN Local Team Facilitators have just launched their Summer Camp Guide that provides an overview of various summer camps across Simcoe County and York Region and other programs for the disability community. Check it out and share it with families who are looking for some fun options for their child or youth this summer!
WORKSHOPS, PROGRAMS AND EVENTS
Our network calendar features events hosted by CTN, our partner organizations and other local community agencies that may be of interest to your family. New workshops, programs and events are added each week.
STORIES
The CTN Equipment Loan Program (ELP) has recently purchased We Carry Kevan backpack. This is a carrier device specifically designed for individuals with disabilities to go where wheelchairs cannot, with the help of friends and family. Families can borrow this backpack for up to two weeks.
RESOURCES
CTN supports children, youth and families by focusing on CanChild's framework of the F-words for Child Development. Every child with varying abilities has the right to have fun, enjoy friends, function as they are, access fitness, plan for their future and join in family activities.
