It’s that time of year again—Halloween at CTN! A time when CTN and our community partners welcome kids and youth with disabilities and developmental needs for trick-or-treating in a safe, sensory sensitive and accessible environment.

CTN Better Together Youth Group Welcome Party | |
On Sept. 25th, CTN’s Wellness Program Coordinators and two CTN alumni, facilitated our first youth group with a welcome party. This youth group will be running monthly throughout the school year.
At the welcome party, attendees got the chance to get to know one another, enjoy some pizza, celebrate a few birthdays and made mindful bottles. The youth also took home some materials based on the F Words for Child Development that will help them join in on some of the online activities at future meetings.

Caring for the Caregiver Video Series | |
Are you looking for resources to support your wellness as a caregiver? Our four-part Caring for the Caregiver video series focuses on providing caregivers with skills and strategies that can be used in their day- to-day lives.

This webinar is for families with a new autism diagnosis for their child or youth. The information shared will help caregivers build a greater understanding of autism, learn about the autism community, receive resources to navigate next steps and more. Kids and youth with disabilities and developmental needs are invited to join CTN and the Markham Public Library as we showcase the Makerspace. The Makerspace is a collaborative do-it-yourself environment where you can explore modeling and printing on the 3D and Cricut machine and be creative with hands-on learning.

Fall PA Day Sibshops in Barrie and Aurora! | |
Friday, November 15, 2024 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Sibshops are fun events just for siblings (aged 7 to 13 years old) of kids and youth with disabilities and developmental needs. Along with some fun games and activities, participants will have the opportunity to meet other kids who have similar experiences and hear how others handle challenging situations.
