Happy Holidays from CTN!
Sending you and your family warm wishes this holiday season! We thank you for your partnership in building brighter futures together for children and youth with disabilities and developmental needs.

The Pfizer BioNtech COVID-19 vaccine has been approved by Health Canada for children turning five by the end of 2021 up to age 11. Beginning Tuesday, November 23, 2021, parents/guardians of children in this age group will be eligible to book appointments for their child’s first vaccination dose through the Ontario COVID-19 Vaccination Portal, select pharmacies, local public health units and some primary care providers. The Ontario government is making it easier for families to access services in the needs-based Ontario Autism Program (OAP) with the selection of the Independent Intake Organization (IIO), which will help families navigate the program from intake to funding. The province is also launching the Entry to School Program to support children on the autism spectrum entering kindergarten or Grade 1 for the first time. Click here to read more. 
CanChild would like to hear your thoughts about the F-words for Child Development (fun, family, friends, function, fitness and future). This study involves a pre and post survey (10-20 minutes) about your perspective and experiences with the F-words for Child Development. CTN families can now borrow a powered mobility device called the Explorer Mini to help their child increase mobility, learn more independence and have fun! This new piece of equipment is part of the CTN Equipment Loan Program (ELP) funded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation. Click here to read more.

Motion York are offering a free equipment service clinic for CTN families for wheelchairs, walkers and standers. The family must bring the equipment (and child if it is a growth adjustment) to Motion in Markham and they will fix things or adjust equipment for fit. If there are repair parts required, they can provide a quote for the parts/labour. This is for any CTN child in York Region, regardless of where their equipment is from.
