Teacher of the Year Award

Now Accepting Nominations

Honor the special teachers in your life with a nomination for the 2024 Teacher of the Year Award!

The Teacher of the Year Program recognizes the great contributions teachers make in Washtenaw County and to the learning community. This award recognizes and honors teacher excellence and does not attempt to select the “best” teacher; rather, to identify, from among many outstanding teachers, one teacher to serve as a visible and vocal representative of what is best in the profession.

As the sponsor of this program, the LaFontaine Family wishes to honor the amazing teachers of Washtenaw County and recognize them for the hard work and efforts they put into every school year.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Must be a certified teacher.

2. Spends a minimum of 50% of their time

teaching students.

3. Must be in good standing with their district.

4. Plans to continue in an active teaching status.

We encourage colleagues, administrators, board members, parents, students, education-related organizations such as PTOs, and other community members to submit nominations for teachers who meet all eligibility criteria.
