Post-Secondary Scholarship Applications are Now Open
Applications are now being accepted for Empowered Kids Ontario (EKO) Scholarships. The EKO Scholarship motivates and supports promising youth who have benefited from the services and supports offered by one of Ontario's 21 Children's Treatment Centres (including CTN) and plan to attend a college, university or career training program. Each scholarship is worth $2,000 to help students achieve their goals. Completed applications will be accepted online through May 15, 2020.

Top 10 Reasons to Attend the Information Fair April 25th
Join CTN and over 50 vendors from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. at the Holly Community Centre in Barrie. Private and public agencies and organizations will provide information, advice, demonstrations and resources for your child or youth with disabilities and developmental needs. Parent mentors will be hosting a "coffee chat" room to connect with other parents and caregivers. Read these and other reasons to attend on April 25th.

CTN is Hosting Free March Break Events for Kids
CTN has partnered with some of our community agencies offering inclusive fun opportunities during March Break. CTN children and youth can try out Remote Control Car Racing for free in both Simcoe and York. If you are looking for some fun on the ice, families can try sledge hockey with the City of Richmond Hill or enjoy a sensory skate in Barrie where sledges will be provided for those who find skating a challenge.

STORIES

Focus on Family: Special Needs Siblings
It is often said that siblings have the longest lasting relationship in the lives of children with disabilities. Participating in groups and programs for siblings (like CTN's Sibshop events) can be helpful in addressing their unique needs. Today's Parent spoke to families who shared their strategies for finding balance and nurturing these important relationships.

EVENTS
This events calendar features events hosted by CTN, our partner organizations and other local organizations that we thought may be of interest to your family. New events are added to our network calendar each week! Check out the upcoming dates for family fun, inclusive recreation programs, camp and parent workshops and coffee chats.
