CTN Youth Info Fair Hits Simcoe Region April 28th
If you are a parent of, or work with a youth or young adult with special needs, mark Saturday April 28th in your calendar. Youth and young adults with special needs and those who support them are all welcome. The CTN Youth Info Fair will be at the Holly Community Centre in Barrie from 1-4 pm for a one-stop shop of info and resources including transition to adult services, post-secondary education, funding, recreation programs, respite, and youth volunteer and employment opportunities. This wonderful FREE event is brought to you in partnership with the Simcoe County District School Board, the City of Barrie, Simcoe Community Services, Catulpa, Closing the Gap, and Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board.

New Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Initiative
The Ministry of Children and Youth has announced additional funding for FASD support. CTN as the Coordinating Agency for Coordinated Service Planning will oversee this funding and is contracting with Catulpa Community Support Services to hire 2 workers -one for Simcoe County and one for York Region. This initiative will deliver child, youth and family-centered service to children and youth with FASD and/or suspected FASD and their families. Staff will work with families to develop a support plan and ensure they are connected to the right resources.

Barrie Residents: Inclusion Support Funding for Summer Camp
Children, youth and adults with a disability or unique needs who require support may receive one free week of 1:1 support to be integrated successfully in one of the many City of Barrie day camps (including adapted camps). This funding is for residents of Barrie only, and families are required to pay for the cost of the camp program of choice. To apply, click the link below and scroll down to "Inclusion Support Funding 2018" to fill out the application by April 20th. 

Easter Seals Scholarship Applications Now Open
Easter Seals manages a range of scholarships for students with physical disabilities, ranging in amounts from $500 to up to $5,000 for a single year of post-secondary education. Applications are now open for the 2018-2019 academic year.
