Diocese of Florida Welcomes Emily Stimler As New Director of Communications
We are pleased to welcome Emily Stimler as the new full-time Director of Communications for the Diocese of Florida. In this capacity, Emily will lead both internal and external communications strategies and will be responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation of the strategic marketing communication plans for the Diocese. If so, the Diocese of Florida is sponsoring a Ministry Exploration Day, to be held on December 1 at Church of Our Saviour in the Mandarin area of Jacksonville.

Lay Ministry School Beginning in January
We are thrilled to announce the beginning of the Lay Ministry School for Licensed Lay Worship Leaders (LLWL) and Licensed Lay Catechists (LLC) this January. This course is to prepare lay leaders in our churches to lead public worship and to be properly trained catechists (teachers of the Christian faith) to assist with preparing candidates for baptism and confirmation. Candidates who complete the course will receive a license from the Bishop for their ministry.

Diocesan Wounded Warrior Ministry Request
On the weekend of November 16, 2018, the Diocesan Wounded Warrior Ministry will welcome 15-20 Warriors and their spouses at Camp Weed for a well-deserved respite weekend! 

The Ministry Chairman, Bob Yerkes, is requesting all churches to request from their members letters of gratitude and support for these couples, addressed to “Warrior and Spouse” (since we don’t have their names yet.) These letters should be delivered to the Diocesan Office by Wednesday, November 14th.

Bob is also requesting donations from churches and church members to fund $100 gift cards for each couple. These donations, or $100 Publix or Visa cards, can be sent to:

The Holy Spirit is strong at Holy Comforter, Crescent City Florida . F or the first time in almost 20 years we have children Acolytes on the Altar again! Our Sunday School (also absent for 20 years) also started on October 14!

A huge thanks to members of St. John’s Cathedral Troop 906 who picked up trash along Duval Street recently. They collected trash from St. John’s Cathedral all the way to the Veterans Memorial Arena in preparation for this weekend's Florida/Georgia Football game.
