Message from Your Principal and Assistant Principal
Happy New Year!!
The entire Connect HS/DVX staff is excited to welcome our students back next week. Our staff has spent the past week in Professional Development learning, honing and creating alongside our K8 team in preparation for this school year. There is a lot of information in this week's newsletter, please be sure to read it in its entirety.
Although the Spring 2023 semester begins on January 9, 2023, only our M/Th students will be on campus on Monday. Therefore, T/F students will begin their asynchronous work on Monday. Be sure to have them check Canvas on Monday, and we look forward to seeing them in person on Tuesday, January 10th.
Make sure your students' computers are charged and have a refillable water bottle!
Class schedules can be checked on PowerSchool. There will be signs and staff will be available on Monday and Tuesday to direct students to their learning spaces.
If you have any questions or concerns about your student's schedule or cohort assignment, please contact your student's counselor. Students will be provided with a form to complete for consideration there are many factors that go into creating student schedules. Changes are NOT guaranteed and will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
We would also like to remind our families that SLCs, POLs, and Exhibitions are Da Vinci school-wide practices that all students are required to participate in. Students that do not may be disenrolled per our ISEA. We are of course committed to supporting our students as best we can and are happy to meet with families to plan and assist in helping students participate in these practices.
Students should be working on Learning Log #3, which is due on February 7, 2023. If you or your student need Learning Log assistance please contact Tina at CHannouche@davincischools.org.
Our school site is expanding!! Construction on the new side is almost complete. This expansion will open up 3 new classrooms, restrooms and additional sitting areas for our Connect community.
Robert and I have heard your desire to be able to have your students come to campus on their asynchronous days. We are thrilled to share that we have created a plan to do just that. Please look for information about asynchronous days attendance in the next 2 weeks.
Looking forward to this semester!
Tami and Robert
