Neurodiversity Club at Da Vinci Connect HS: Club of the Year! 🌟

Now entering its second year, the Neurodiversity Club at Da Vinci Connect High School—proudly sponsored by The Friendship Foundation—continues to make a powerful impact on campus culture. Honored as Club of the Year, the students have worked tirelessly to raise awareness about neurodivergence and foster a sense of belonging and normalcy for all.

From hosting inclusive Spirit Weeks to bringing in LAX PUPS therapy dogs for both cohorts, and even partnering with Cabrillo Aquarium for a hands-on sensory tank experience and marine life lessons, the club has created engaging, educational, and heartwarming events throughout the year. Their dedication is not just a celebration of neurodiversity—it’s a movement. 💙🧠✨

Dear Connect HS Families,


As we wrap up this school year we thought we would open our final newsletter acknowledging the great work the Neurodiversity Club has done for the Connect High School Community!

We also want to invite our 9th, 10th, and 11th Graders to our End of the Year Carnival on June 11th!!


Congratulations to the Class of 2025! -Grad night will be on June 6th. Please arrive to Connect High School by 10:30am. -Graduation Rehearsal, Senior Breakfast and Awards will by on Monday June 9th at 201 N. Douglas. Students please meet Robert and I at the Gym (we will be there by 8am)-- it is a school day for 201, plan ahead for heavy traffic (Awards will be given at 11am in the Blackbox Theater). Graduation Day June 13th at 9am (graduates need to arrive at 8am). We are working to assign family seating and distribute parking passes as quickly as possible.

Presentations of Learning (POLs) POLs for Period 1 have been great, and we would like to remind families about expectations and procedures as we move into periods 2 on June 5th and 6th, periods 3 on June 9th, and 10th.

EXPECTATIONS

  • Students are expected to be present for the entire session for all 3 classes.
  • The presentation order is random, so you must be prepared to present at any time.
  • Students must be in professional dress at all times during your POL session.
  • Students are assigned to attend either the AM session (9:15-12:00) or the PM session (12:30-3:15). 
  • No schedule changes will be permitted.
  • Parents are welcome to attend their child’s POL, but must email the SPECIFIC POL teacher BEFORE the first POL day in that class. The teacher will ensure your child presents while you are present. 
  • As a reminder POL is a required signature practice at Da Vinci Schools, if your child is unable to attend at their scheduled time they must make an arrangement with their teacher(s) prior to the POL date. Please note, not participating in POLs will result in a noncompliance letter, which can jeopardize over grade and enrollment. Parents are not required to attend POLs


Drop off early, Pick up, Early dismissal

  • If your child is assigned an afternoon POL but need to be dropped off at 9:15 AM, they will report to Learning Space 8 where they can work on POLs 
  • If your child is assigned a morning POL but need to be picked up after 12:00 PM, they will report to Learning Space 8 where they can work on POLs or they may leave campus 
  • If your child is assigned a PM session they must stay until 3:15

Summer School Begins on June 17th Counselors have sent summer school forms home with students.
