Canada Caregiver Credit – Do you Qualify?
Before we know it, we’ll be thinking about our tax returns. As a caregiver, you may qualify for a tax credit. The person you care for may also qualify for one but it’s often hard to know what’s available. If you’re not sure what credits you qualify for, the government of Canada’s Benefit Finder is a great place to start.

The Benefits Finder - a tool that can help you find Benefits and Services that you may be eligible to receive. It asks a few questions and uses your answers to search. It does not collect or track your information. The more questions you answer, the more customized and accurate your results will be.

The Canada Caregiver Credit - a federal, non-refundable tax credit for individuals supporting a family member.

The Seniors’ Home Safety Tax Credit - a temporary, refundable personal income tax credit that may be available to a care recipient to make their home more accessible.

Reimagining the Perfect Holiday
As the holiday season begins, many of us start to feel the added stress. From shopping to meal prep and décor, to figuring out visits with family and friends, managing the holidays as a caregiver requires an extra layer of preparation. Here are five tips to consider, helping you create more space for yourself and hopefully adding more joy to the holidays for everyone you care for.

1. Take care of your own needs
2. Be flexible with shopping
3. Adjust holiday meals
4. Cut back on décor
5. Start a new tradition
