Register Now for National Night Out 2018
A Fun Way to Partner with Pacifica Police to Support Anti-Crime Programs
|
On Tuesday,
August 7, 2018
Pacifica will be participating in the
35th Annual National Night Out
. Held on the first Tuesday in August each year, this national campaign is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs; strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
A number of neighborhoods, apartment buildings, townhome communities and businesses annually register to participate in this annual event. Some host ice cream socials, barbecues, or pot-luck gatherings. Some neighborhoods simply turn on their porch light between 6:30 PM and 9:00 PM that night. It is up to each block and business that participates to decide how they want to gather together with their neighbors. You don’t have to be an official neighborhood watch group to participate in National Night Out. You may be a couple of neighbors who merely want to get to know each other better and promote safety in your neighborhood. This is a great way to start and begin an annual tradition in your neighborhood.
There is still plenty of time for interested blocks and businesses to register in this community-wide focus on crime prevention. When you register for National Night Out, our officers will stop by your event to recognize your participation. The event is open to all residents, blocks and businesses in the City of Pacifica.
Register by Friday, July 27
by sending an interest email to
