Highlights: San Jose Ave. Pedestrian Overcrossing Replacement, Recruitment for Beautification Advisory Committee, Sharp Park Berm Public Access Improvement Project
Connect With Pacifica This Week
Greetings!

We hope your summer is going exceedingly well. We had an exciting development in Pacifica this week. Our friends at the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) hosted a groundbreaking for the replacement of the San Jose Avenue Pedestrian Overcrossing on Thursday, July 12, 2018. Caltrans intends to replace the old bridge with a brand new bridge! The current San Jose Avenue Pedestrian Overcrossing was built in 1968 and was retrofitted in 1994 to increase its lifespan. However, the ocean air has taken its toll on the aging structure and Caltrans has made the decision to replace it. The new bridge encompasses modern architecture and an artistic design that reflects Pacifica. The overcrossing project is scheduled to be completed in November 2018. See the Caltrans News Release for more information.

In other news, the City’s Beautification Advisory Committee (BAC) is seeking candidates to interview for a vacant member position. See the Recruitment Notice here . The BAC is charged with the implementation of the City’s Keep Pacifica Beautiful program. You can read about the BAC at this link .

Please let me know if you have comments or questions, and  thank you  for wanting to  Connect with Pacifica !

Sincerely,
LORENZO HINES JR.
Assistant City Manager
