Connect With Pacifica This Week
|
|
Greetings!
In early 2015, I was invited by the Pacifica Tribune to begin writing regular columns for the paper. I agreed and since then, the topics have included describing what a City Manager does, launching new community engagement strategies, explaining the City Council’s goal-setting and work plan development process, and most recently, how we responded to the storm emergency, and are responding to sea level rise and climate change.
Occasionally I have asked a member of my staff to write about a particular topic. Last year the Planning Director wrote about the General Plan Update and the Economic Development Manager about how retail works.
The Police Chief has also written a few columns on topics such as crime statistics and graduation safety; this month he wrote the one provided below (in the City News section). This particular column offers his reflections on his first year in the job. I encourage you to read it. I think it will give you some insight into Chief Steidle’s leadership approach, and how and why our Police Department functions so well.
The Tribune columns are posted online here: City Manager's Tribune Submissions
Please let me know if you have comments or questions, and
thank you for wanting to
Connect with Pacifica!
Best,
LORIE TINFOW
City Manager
