Highlights: Crespi Sewer Main Repair Project, Inflatable Family Fun Run, PB&R Fall Activities Registration, National Night Out Recap
Connect With Pacifica This Week
Greetings!

As the month of Fog-gust continues, our Parks, Beaches and Recreation Department has a fun event for families on Thursday, August 17 at Frontierland Park from 4pm – 7pm. It‘s the Inflatable Family Fun Run! Giant inflatable obstacle courses will challenge child/parent couples to race each other. Take a break from back-to-school shopping and exert some positive energy. Register here soon to participate.

The City is scheduled to begin repairs to the Crespi sanitary sewer line which runs underneath the Linda Mar Beach parking lot on August 21. This repair work will impact beach parking at Linda Mar for about 12 weeks. Beachgoers should watch for signs restricting parking, and can find alternate parking at the Crespi parking lot at the Community Center and the Linda Mar Park N Ride across from Linda Mar Shopping Center. Please avoid using the Linda Mar Shopping Center and Pedro Point Shopping Center lots for beach parking. Be kind to others and enjoy Pacifica’s coastal assets.

Please let me know if you have comments or questions, and  thank you for wanting to   Connect with Pacifica!

Best,
KEITH BRESKIN
Interim City Manager

City News
  • Pacifica State Beach Parking Alert - The Crespi Sanitary Sewer Main Repair Project will replace the existing 12” sewer main line that currently runs through the entire Pacifica State Beach Parking Lot (from the Anza Pump Station to the Linda Mar Pump Station). Construction is scheduled to begin on August 21, 2017 and is expected to last for 12 weeks. It is important for this project to be completed prior to winter to take advantage of the lower sewer flow. For the duration of construction, some of the parking spaces may be restricted to allow construction crews full access to the work site as well as for public safety. A-Frame Barricades with “No Parking” signs will be placed 72 hours prior to the start of work and remain in place until work is complete. Alternative parking is available at the Crespi parking lot and also at the Linda Mar Park N Ride parking lot.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and ask for your patience and cooperation as we repair this vital City infrastructure. It is always our goal to improve the quality of life of not only our residents, but visitors as well.

Strengthening Police-Community Partnerships with National Night Out

Pacifica residents organized neighborhood events and met their neighbors in participation of the 34th Annual National Night Out on August 1. Pacifica Police were invited to the neighborhoods of Park Casitas on Oddstad Blvd, Madeira Drive, Creekside on Rosita Road and Kent Road this year. Kids met McGruff the crime dog with our officers, including Captain Spanheimer. Residents asked questions about crime prevention, shared traffic concerns in their neighborhoods, and learned about emergency preparedness, our CERT program and the advantages of registering with SMCAlert for information in a disaster.

Always the first Tuesday in August, this national campaign is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

For information about coordinating an event next year for National Night Out, contact Sgt. Bill Glasgo and [email protected].
