Highlights: City Council Special Meeting on Goals and Budget, Earth Day and EcoFest 2018, Sea Level Rise Public Meeting
Connect With Pacifica This Week
Greetings!

At a special City Council meeting this upcoming Tuesday, April 24, at 6 p.m., the City Council will be hearing a presentation about the City’s budget, followed by adoption of City Council goals and Council-prioritized projects for the upcoming fiscal year, FY2018-19. The staff reports are here . The budget presentation will provide an overview of Pacifica’s budget challenges; more detailed budget deliberations and public hearings will follow during May and June. The seven broad goals the City Council has adopted in recent years are recommended to continue, and include: Fiscal Sustainability, A Connected Community, Stewardship of City Infrastructure, A Healthy and Compassionate Community, Preserve and Enhance Natural Resources, A Strong Workforce Infrastructure, and Maintaining a Safe Community. The potential list of prioritized-projects/initiatives includes numerous exciting actions related to transportation infrastructure and transit alternatives, economic development, coastal planning and protection, affordable housing, the library, and more. Of course, these prioritized projects/initiatives are in addition to the on-going day-to-day programs and services provided by the City. I encourage you to take a look at the reports.

I will be participating in this Saturday’s Earth Day of Action and EcoFest event, which encapsulates several of the goals that I mention above such as A Connected Community, A Healthy and Compassionate Community, and Preserve and Enhance Natural Resources. I hope to see many of you out at this event, too! Take part in a clean up on Saturday morning and/or learn more about helping our coastal environment thrive from a variety of community organizations at the EcoFest at Linda Mar Beach parking lot from 11:00am – 2:30pm. Find out more information below.

Please let me know if you have comments or questions, and  thank you  for wanting to  Connect with Pacifica !

Sincerely,
KEVIN WOODHOUSE
City Manager
