Connect With Pacifica This Week
Greetings!

You may have heard that Pacifica was featured this week in the San Francisco Chronicle as the Bay Area’s friendliest city. What’s more, Pacificans were also recognized this week by the EPA for their commitment to clean energy. In 2018, City of Pacifica customers saved $505,000 on electricity bills with Peninsula Clean Energy.

With such warm-hearted people, conscientious residents, it is no surprise then that our City is home to a host of citizen volunteers. In the spirit of Volunteer Appreciation Month, the Pacifica Police Department held a dinner yesterday to honor all the citizens who give of their time and effort in service of our community. Also this week, I had the pleasure of serving alongside other City Councilmembers at a dinner to honor the 165 active volunteers of Pacifica Senior Services. Next week, the board members of Pacificans Care will honor all Meals on Wheels volunteers for their years of tireless service to home-bound Pacifica seniors. Currently, fifty-six volunteers deliver Meals on Wheels throughout Pacifica every weekday. In the last 12 months, they have delivered 16,577 fresh, nutritious meals to clients with an average age of 82.

To all our friendly, volunteering citizens, thank you for making Pacifica great. Please let me know if you have comments or questions, and  thank you for wanting to  Connect with Pacifica!

Sincerely,
KEVIN WOODHOUSE
City Manager
